What the hell?!? It's July already!

In my former occupation, the 4th of July Celebrations signaled one thing... Summer was more than half over and the only thing left to sweat over was the County Fair!

Once Fair Week ended... Summer was over!

So here we are, mid-way through summer and more surprisingly, 2009!

For some that doesn't mean much. I am mainly bummed about the onset of 2010 because that's when I get my new credit cards. Same numbers, yes. Security codes? No. They change.

Cripes I hate that. I don't have enough trouble remembering important stuff, (like whether or not both of my socks match) so there's that to look forward to. Although I love the new ATM's all you do is swipe.

The old ones would swallow your card and not spit it back out if you entered the wrong PIN number more than once. (It was also important to have learned that something cemented in place to keep from being removed, doesn't really respond in any significant manner when kicked.)

I was on crutches for a week and had to practically produce mitochondrial DNA to get my stupid card back.

Cripes... what a week that was! Hmm... where was I going with this? Oh yeah, summer's half over. Well, not really but it sure seems as if it is though. It's not like it's been cold and gray and damp and so cold I put jeans on... Hey! That was last week! Small wonder I get confused.

The weather has been really nice as of late. Mid to upper 70's, mild nights, great for sleeping with open windows... I love that especially right after the grass has been cut. It reminds me of freshly cut hay. Which, for my yard, it is pretty much like cutting hay!

"Hi! Rental Store? What's the daily rate for a hay-bine?"

Have I mentioned my neighbors hate me? hahahaha!

It's not really that bad, this summer has been especially nice to have my 16 year-old godson to help. I love slave labor! No, I'm kidding. He wants a car, but he needs a job to get money for a car, he can't get to a job because he doesn't have a car... (unfortunate home location vs. potential-no-jobs-near-enough-to-walk-or-bicycle-to) it's such a vicious circle.

So, I'm helping to contribute to the 'car fund'. Which isn't all that much but it's still giving him something to bank on. He's getting pretty good at it too. I have to have him come this week. I can't believe how the grass has shot up. It's almost as tall as the flipping weeds!

My irises have come and gone and my lilies are opening like mad. I want to post pictures of the new ones but my brand new digital camera stopped working after a week! I was not a happy camper. To make matters worse, I returned it. Got the new one home and discovered that the exchange camera was evidently returned as well!

Tomorrow, it goes back... and I'm get my cash. Sorry, Fuji J-20 Finepix... with me, it's two strikes and you're out!

Hope you've all had a safe 4th!
