We had our first frost last night. just a small touch. Vanishing quickly as the sun broke the horizon. It won't be too much longer before we reach full color, it's a shame we had two days of heavy, blustery winds.
As a result, the beauty of the maple reds are gone and we're left only with the golds and oranges. Still, even though the color augers fall... it is a welcome change. The anticipation of the another season passing us by is something I must admit I enjoy.
Planting the fall flowers, anticipating what will bloom in the spring. Smelling the crisp sent of falling leaves in the air... the rustle of leaves as they dance their way around the yard... I love fall.
I may rethink this statement come mid-winter, but for now... my mood is a gentle one. I look to the mountian... the sun shining and the color moving ever farther to the top, each day a little closer than the one just passed....
